Bollcoin, October 22 — According to The Block, crypto custody firm BitGo announced the establishment of a research and innovation unit, BitGo Labs, with the goal of designing and launching the next breakthrough application in crypto, starting with the intersection of AI and crypto. BitGo said the AI economy needs crypto financial infrastructure to handle micropayments, enable instant settlement and secure assets. BitGo Labs has launched several initial projects, including the consumer app Gokubu, which is already live. The app uses AI-powered cards to help users optimize spending and provides each user with a personalized AI financial assistant. BitGo Labs will also publish research, develop prototype protocols and reference implementations, and collaborate with developers, academia and institutions in the crypto and AI space.
