"However, compared with this quarter's earnings report itself, the stock price reaction may be more determined by the business outlook," Chatterjee said, noting that investors want to see signals that cloud and AI growth are sustainable. Yorkville Ives analyst Dan Ives maintained an "Outperform" rating on Microsoft on Friday with a target price of $615. Ives listed Microsoft as one of his "top five tech picks through 2027." Ives said that the concentrated earnings disclosures from hyperscale cloud providers such as Microsoft, Alphabet and Amazon could help "soothe a highly volatile market."
