Bollcoin, Oct. 24 — According to Forbes, Jarod Koopman, head of the IRS Criminal Investigation division, said the IRS plans to launch a reformed tax voluntary disclosure program (VDP) by the end of November, aiming to shorten the case processing time to a maximum of 120 days after a taxpayer submits complete materials, reduce penalty amounts under the current system, and consider arrangements such as installment payments. Koopman also made clear that the IRS will not set up a separate voluntary disclosure procedure for digital assets such as cryptocurrencies; digital assets will be treated the same as other taxable income sources and processed through the general virtual data processing procedure (VDP).
