Bollcoin reported on October 22, citing Bloomberg, that Nasdaq 100 futures fell 1.8% and S&P 500 futures fell 1% as investment sentiment in the AI sector cooled. Meta beat revenue expectations and raised its capital expenditure plan, while Tesla cut spending, with the two earnings reports triggering divergent market reactions. In addition, chip equipment maker Lam Research fell more than 7% after its guidance came in weaker than expected, dragging down related sectors. The market is beginning to worry that the massive investment in data centers and computing infrastructure may take longer to pay off, while the sustained rally in AI-related stocks has also heightened risks of overvaluation and a bubble. Risk-off sentiment has since risen, with U.S. Treasuries strengthening across the board and the 10-year Treasury yield falling 4 basis points to 5.08%; Brent crude oil prices broke above $112 per barrel.
