Bollcoin reported on October 22, citing the Cambodia China Times, that Cambodian courts have frozen nearly $1 billion in assets related to the Prince Group case, involving buildings, casinos and thousands of real estate properties. The investigation also found that the group has as many as 198 affiliated companies, 98 of which are located in Cambodia and another 100 overseas. It should be noted that frozen assets do not mean they have been formally confiscated. The Cambodian side said relevant authorities are studying the lawful management and subsequent disposal of the frozen assets, including temporarily placing them under state management or applying for final confiscation, but the final outcome must still be determined by court proceedings. Cambodian Minister of State and Secretary-General of the National Committee for Countering Online Scams, Chhay Sinarith, said the investigation has been ongoing for several months. Law enforcement suspects that buildings and casinos of some affiliated companies were used for online fraud activities. So far, the court has issued arrest warrants for 32 people involved in the case, and another 4 are under judicial supervision.
