Bollcoin, October 27: Foundation, the developer of the hardware wallet Passport, released an update on its security incident investigation, saying it has identified more than 23,000 phishing email attempts in its email systems, of which 19,057 were sent via Mailgun and 1,503 via Google Workspace. Some addresses received multiple emails, and some attempts failed or were blocked before delivery. These figures do not represent the number of people whose personal information was leaked; Foundation is still confirming and will disclose further details. The investigation shows that its legacy WooCommerce store had incomplete data cleanup. Although historical orders appeared redacted in the backend, after the database migration the old tables still retained copies of customer personal information, with similar data found in refund records and abandoned carts. These records were located in systems accessible to attackers.
