Bollcoin, October 22 — According to CoinDesk, Ethereum researchers have proposed a draft fast finality mechanism that would shorten transaction finality time from roughly 16 minutes at present to about 4 minutes, a target of about a 4x improvement. The draft was submitted on Wednesday by Ben Edgington, coordinator of fast finality research, and others. It is still at an early stage and no activation timeline has been set. The proposal plans to split the validator votes used to determine new blocks and to finalize historical blocks into two separate mechanisms, so that finality can advance at a faster pace.
