Bollcoin, October 20 - According to Tencent Tech, sources revealed that Huawei engineers have been stationed long-term at DeepSeek's offices, incorporating large model training needs into next-generation chip design. DeepSeek plans to begin large-scale pre-training using Huawei's Ascend 950DT as early as the end of this year. A complete pre-training run may require more than 10,000 chips running continuously for several weeks, depending on testing progress. Huawei plans to allocate most of the supply of the Ascend 960DT, set to launch in Q1 2027, to DeepSeek. DeepSeek open-sourced the TileLang toolkit adapted for the Ascend 950 on September 30, while still seeking more Nvidia chips.
